Note to self: You slept far better last night didn't you without all that Mt. Dew before bed? Moron.
Today, going on out to lunch with mom while Wifey and the kids are still away. I believe that Stepdad is staying home so...yay for that. :)
Additionally, I'm gonna try and bounce out to to that apartment from yesterday -- again. We'll see if it works this time. I may also try another one out on the east side of town. It was actually the one I meant to see before the one yesterday, but looking at all these apartments kinda scrambles in the brain after awhile.

So, go to chiro yesterday and he did just amazing things for me yesterday. Wondrous adjustment (cuz we don't say "popped", it's an adjustment) in my neck that has been bothering me all weekend long. Once he got it, I breathed a VERY heavy sigh of relief.
He then put me on the rack. I mean, sure, they're modern therapeutic devices, but it damn near feels like something out of the Inquisition. We stretched, I balanced, we rotated and moved things that you just don't do normally in a day...and that's the point. Fix me by strengthening me. <3 this doc.
He told me as I was getting ready to go to make sure I put ice on it...NOT heat...when I get home. It's bound to tense up a good bit from all that we did. I told him sure, we were gonna drop my car off to the shop and I could probably sit on the ice pack the whole ride.
Well, I got home (the kids were with MIL and FIL), and then Wifey and I go over to our respective vehicles. As I climb into the passenger door of the car, I think, Man, it's hot in here, and proceed to turn the car on (not start it) and open the windows. Then, as I climb in the rest of the way to start it...click-click-click-click-click. Yup. She's dead. Need a jump. Proceed to walk up and down our whole apartment building because -- like us -- none of our neighbors have cables either. Finally find one who does, we jump it and we're off.
We drop the car out at the dealership -- I've now climbed in and out of the car around five times -- and head out to the north end of town as Wifey had to close a Tastefully Simple party. Before I had even climbed back into the van, I realize...I think I just about undid everything the chiro did for me. My shoulders were already feeling sore, and my neck was feeling it too.
Wifey finishes, and we head down to the south side of town to pick up the kids. When we get there, they're still in the pool. It's now after 8:30 which is their typical lights-out bedtime (at least for Princess; the boy stays up a half-hour later). They still have to have snack, and are going ballistic because of the thought of not having it. So, I pull TheBoy and Princess out of the pool, and we go in for snack.
By the time we get into the house...my shoulder twitches. My whole upper back goes nuts. Someone just took a roofing spike and drove it between my shoulders. I just laid down on the bed and cried like I'd just gone through the machine. We manage to eventually put a couple things in the car, and load up the kids. It's at this point I remember...I never iced my shoulder. I ask for an ice pack, and Wifey brings out this monstrous cooler pack that I promptly lean my back onto.
...all is calm. All is bright.
I managed to hold things together just fine to get home, carry Princess to bed, go down stairs for my un-guild night time, and then promptly pass out around 11:30. Woke up...and didn't feel half bad.
Wow, that was a long story for an ending of "didn't feel half bad", wasn't it?

So, we'll go with the good news first.
I can has new skillz? Had the meeting with SAPDude. Fun guy. Talks as fast as I do (I know! Shocking!) Gave me more info than I could contain, but laid it flat out that training would be possible if I was interested. Mind you the gods of this realm have to approve it (ITDude and BossMan), but otherwise, things may be looking very up for me around here.
And now...for the dark lining on that silver cloud.
Total for car repairs: $1800. Turns out that the A/C being shot is the evaporator, which is around $1200 alone (inclusive of the work they did to find that out). It also needs brakes, gear cable, and serpentine belt, and the door repair of course. The door is only $41, and the serpentine belt is a must-do. The gear cable I can baby, as I can with the brakes.
So, looks like it's gonna be a sweaty summer. At least I won't be breaking my back though.
